Thirty-Eighth Shower - [Voice]

[Don't mind her, she's just grumbling to herself a little.] Vanitas is wrong. Valentine's Day is still special, even if a person doesn't have someone else to celebrate it with. It's seeing everybody else happy that makes it worth it some days. [But she's done fuming about it. Happy thoughts, happy thoughts.]

You know, I kind of miss the day-after sales on holiday candy back home. With everything being free here, it's not quite the same.

Anyway, hope everybody had a nice holiday! From the sounds of it a lot of you really are getting into the spirit of things. It's great. What was the best thing about yesterday for those of you who celebrated? I think mine was just seeing love in the air.

I think I've spoiled myself with this box of chocolates though.

...hey Aqua, are you busy? I thought maybe we could get started on that thing you and I talked about a while ago.

Open the journal every now and then, Riku. Of course they are.

[She gets he's bitter though and won't call him on it. She probably baked him cookies. It's tradition for these two at this point.] I was probably going to go out and scout for some more candy and stuff for the house. Wanna come with me later?

Sometimes reading the journals is like listening to a broken record. Maybe I shouldn't be surprised.

[Humbug! Ah well... Kairi time is a good time.]

[She's starting to get that maybe she just needs to take Riku out to distract him.] Probably not.

Actually, we can probably go right now. If you're up for it, I mean.

[Well, before long, she'll spot Riku in his Organization cloak because it's totally warm.]

[To her credit, she only makes a face for a few seconds at the cloak.] Definitely. Let's going. [She motions for him to follow and off they go!]

[And he'll follow, keeping close because he doesn't want to drag too far behind.]

[Good Riku. Kairi's just going to bump his hand with one of hers though to get his attention.]

It feels like it's been forever since you and me hung out by ourselves, doesn't it?

[Hand bump, huh? Does she want him to take her hand, 'cause he's totally cool with that.]

Yeah. So much has happened lately, and I keep forgetting.

[But he's wanted to spend more time with Kairi.]

[Considering I'm not sure when this is in relationship to when she actually goes to see Jacob, it'd be strictly platonic. Sorry, 'Ku. But she'd be fine with it either way.]

We've got to stop letting that be an excuse. Both of us. I can't even remember the last time we got out of the house to do something fun together.

[Hey, paltonic's fine by him; this is the love cynic, after all.]

No, you're right. We shouldn't let things get in the way; everything's complicated enough as-is.

[Poor Riku. Kairi understands.]

You can always thank the Malnosso for that. I'll try not to complicate things, okay? [Screw it, Riku, have a hand. This is bff-bonding, the end.] Besides, complicated has never stopped us before.

[Excellent~ He won't link fingers or do anything like that because it's a bit too intimate, and this is Riku.]

We'll just have to do what we can. It's been rough, but we've been through a lot worse.

[Yeah she'd have to draw the line there. So she settles for swinging their hands back and forth as they walk.]

You bet we have. Being on separate worlds for a year can do that. It's silly that we haven't done this more now that we live in the same house. When it's warmer? You and me and Sora will go to the beach. What do you think?

Sounds good to me. Maybe we could bring the raft with us.

[Of course, they'd have to carry it all he way there. Augh.]

[She's already ahead of you.] Yeah, maybe if you can figure out a way to get it there. Actually, maybe Jake can help.

Sure, he could be a sled dog for a day.

Be nice. [A light push to the shoulder.] But you're right, he probably could be. I wouldn't force him if he didn't really want to though. Do you think Sora would mind if Jacob hung out with us more?

[Oh yeah? Well, he'll jab her with his elbow.]

I doubt he'd mind. Sora's always up to making new friends; if anything, he'd be excited about it.

I mean, it's not every day you meet a werewolf.

[And she'll poke him in the ribs with her free hand.]

You're probably right. Sora's good with new people, but maybe we shouldn't tell him about Jake's other form just yet. [Then again, Sora's seen Jacob's other form during that week she turned into him. But Sora doesn't have to know that.]

[He shrugs.]

It depends on what Jake's comfortable with. Either way, I don't think Sora'd complain.

I'll have to ask him. I know he didn't really get to know Sora that well the last time he was here, but you're right. I don't think Sora'd complain.

Well, now's his chance.

[Anyhow, whenever they do get to the stores, he'll be ready to help Kairi hunt for delicious treats.]

We'll see! But this isn't about Sora and Jake, this is about you and me and needing to hang out more. [Which is exactly why she's dragging him into the store over to the displays of candy and sweets.] I think we're going to have to stock up, especially with Sora and Axel at the house.
