Thirty-Eighth Shower - [Voice]

[Don't mind her, she's just grumbling to herself a little.] Vanitas is wrong. Valentine's Day is still special, even if a person doesn't have someone else to celebrate it with. It's seeing everybody else happy that makes it worth it some days. [But she's done fuming about it. Happy thoughts, happy thoughts.]

You know, I kind of miss the day-after sales on holiday candy back home. With everything being free here, it's not quite the same.

Anyway, hope everybody had a nice holiday! From the sounds of it a lot of you really are getting into the spirit of things. It's great. What was the best thing about yesterday for those of you who celebrated? I think mine was just seeing love in the air.

I think I've spoiled myself with this box of chocolates though.

...hey Aqua, are you busy? I thought maybe we could get started on that thing you and I talked about a while ago.

You can always thank the Malnosso for that. I'll try not to complicate things, okay? [Screw it, Riku, have a hand. This is bff-bonding, the end.] Besides, complicated has never stopped us before.

[Excellent~ He won't link fingers or do anything like that because it's a bit too intimate, and this is Riku.]

We'll just have to do what we can. It's been rough, but we've been through a lot worse.

[Yeah she'd have to draw the line there. So she settles for swinging their hands back and forth as they walk.]

You bet we have. Being on separate worlds for a year can do that. It's silly that we haven't done this more now that we live in the same house. When it's warmer? You and me and Sora will go to the beach. What do you think?

Sounds good to me. Maybe we could bring the raft with us.

[Of course, they'd have to carry it all he way there. Augh.]

[She's already ahead of you.] Yeah, maybe if you can figure out a way to get it there. Actually, maybe Jake can help.

Sure, he could be a sled dog for a day.

Be nice. [A light push to the shoulder.] But you're right, he probably could be. I wouldn't force him if he didn't really want to though. Do you think Sora would mind if Jacob hung out with us more?

[Oh yeah? Well, he'll jab her with his elbow.]

I doubt he'd mind. Sora's always up to making new friends; if anything, he'd be excited about it.

I mean, it's not every day you meet a werewolf.

[And she'll poke him in the ribs with her free hand.]

You're probably right. Sora's good with new people, but maybe we shouldn't tell him about Jake's other form just yet. [Then again, Sora's seen Jacob's other form during that week she turned into him. But Sora doesn't have to know that.]

[He shrugs.]

It depends on what Jake's comfortable with. Either way, I don't think Sora'd complain.

I'll have to ask him. I know he didn't really get to know Sora that well the last time he was here, but you're right. I don't think Sora'd complain.

Well, now's his chance.

[Anyhow, whenever they do get to the stores, he'll be ready to help Kairi hunt for delicious treats.]

We'll see! But this isn't about Sora and Jake, this is about you and me and needing to hang out more. [Which is exactly why she's dragging him into the store over to the displays of candy and sweets.] I think we're going to have to stock up, especially with Sora and Axel at the house.

So what do you think we should get?

Candy, cookies? No matter what we do take, I know Sora's gonna want some.

Probably chocolates, cookies, and some cupcakes. Then again, I wonder how much he still has from a few weeks ago. Roxas told me that Sora was doing a stake-out outside of the bakery.

Yeah, I heard about that. Apparently he wanted to meet the baker, so he waited around with a pile of boxes.

[He shakes his head.]

Not that I'm surprised; this is Sora we're dealing with.

What a plan. But you're right, this is Sora. [Still, they enjoy him. She's going to keep wandering through to check the shop.]

Did he ever get to meet him?

Beats me. I guess I could ask him about it.

[Yes, he'll skim some of the shelves as well.]

...hey Riku? Can I ask you something? And I mean something that might sound really weird, but I want to make sure it's not just me.

[He shrugs.]

Go for it.

...do you think Sora remembers anything at all from the last time he was here? Like a subconscious thing. [Like about their relationship at all.]

[...Of course. It was bound to come up eventually.

For a moment, Riku's completely silent. Then, he shakes his head.]

I doubt it, Kairi. If he did remember, don't you think we'd know by now?

Maybe...but I mean, maybe it just takes a while. He hasn't been here that long, remember? Maybe it'll come back to him. Look at Axel and Roxas. They didn't remember memories of Xion for years.

But that has to do with what Xion is, Kairi.

[A replica made of memories... If she died, then it makes sense for her to be forgotten.

Sighing, Riku turns away from the store shelves.]

I know it's hard, Kairi, but I think it's better if we expect the worst. And if he does remember, that's great, but most people who come back to Luceti never get those memories back.

I know, I know! [Damn it, the whole thing was pretty frustrating. This is the fourth time Sora's been to Luceti, the fourth time she's had to deal with him forgetting memories. But...this is the first time certain factors have come into play.]

I'm wondering if he'd be affected if certain things happened, that's all.
