Thirty-First Shower-[Written, dated to be during Xion's battle]

[During Xion's all-out village fight, Kairi stayed behind with Sora in their apartment. Currently she's more or less keeping a vigil over the still unconcious brunette but she'll occasionally glance out the window to watch what's happening with everybody and Xion.]

Well, at least they're keeping it away from the village a bit. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be more worried about, the people fighting her, or the fact that they're trying to kill her.

~~Riku, you could have told me you were going to go before you just ran off.~~

I'm not even sure who's out there fighting, but knowing that Riku, Axel, and Roxas are out there definitely isn't that settling. Who knows who else is risking themselves right now?

I have no idea if the ones fighting her are going to have time to check this, but if you're reading this later? Let me know.

...well, that's just depressing. Um. Hey! What's everybody else doing? Somebody change the subject for me. ~~Please?~~

[She has to giggle at that a bit though.]

[And since she giggles, he grins.]

We always stick together and we've known- okay, come on, it works!

You're right, it does work. Doesn't make it any less funny though. [It's not that funny, but she's just happy to have Sora back and talking and being the cheesy hero he is.]

Yeah, I guess not. But it works. [Just to be clear on that.]

[And Sora goes silent for a few moments, then hugs her just a little bit tighter.]

I missed you, Kairi.

Yeah, sure.

[But that stuns her a little back into serious-mode. She figured as much, but it's always really nice to hear it so yeah, snuggling and hugging right back and not caring how sappy they're being right now.]

I know...you know the feeling's mutual.

Yeah... I sure do.

[And another pause, and he gathers his courage-]

I... I love you. Always have. [Always will.]

...[Pausing. Staring. Blinking. More staring.]

...you mean that?

I, uh- [Now that wasn't the reaction he was expecting. Did he screw up somehow?]

Y-yeah, I do. [It's kind of half a question 'cause he's wondering if she didn't want to hear it.]

[Oh no. No, she wanted to hear it. Just...surprised.]

I'm just amazed you said it. [Have a tighter hug in that case because ahhhh gleeee.]

[He'll hold on to her tighter as well, still kind of stuttery over actually saying it.]

I-It's been a long time, so I thought- It was- I-I just wanted to.

[Aww, she wasn't going to say it back?]

[Clearly, Sora's a derp. And it's kind of adorable and kind of special all at once.]

I'm glad you did...makes it easier to say I love you too.

[Oh look at that, now he's red. Sora actually hasn't been awkward about this kind of stuff for awhile, since he did get used to it and used to the idea of them being "together." But actually saying it makes him revert back a little - after all, it was a risk. But he's turning red again, because he wanted to hear that too, and holding her about as close as he can.]

I think I like hearing that.

[Don't worry, Sora, she finds it rather endearing actually. So have a kiss to the cheek.]

And I think I like saying it, so we're in a good place.

[And he likes that too. This is just a lot to like.]

Good to know. Maybe I'll say it again someday.

[Okay that's a light tease...]

Someday huh? I guess I have something else to look forward to then. [Because what's their relationship without teasing each other?]

[Not them, that's for sure.] Yeah, when you're not expecting it.

Maybe I should be expecting it everyday then.

[And here comes Sora's main objection to Romance Stuff-]

But then it'd get boring!

...telling somebody you love them doesn't get boring to hear though. [Sora you derp.]

No, I mean... It wouldn't be special. It wouldn't mean the same thing after awhile.

[In other words, saying it too often made it trite.]

Yeah, I guess that's true. [She totally gets it.] Then only sometimes. Even just by saying it just this once I know you mean it though, so it's okay. It doesn't have to be all the time.

Yeah... Same here.

[And he'll actually loosen up on her a little so she can settle as comfortably as possible.]

Get some sleep, Kairi - I'll wake you up when Riku gets home.

[She's totally grateful for that, slipping further down on the mattress to get comfortable.] Promise you'll do that for me?

Yeah... Promise.

[And he always keeps his promises. Sora slips one hand back to rest on her shoulder; the last thing he feels like doing right now is sleeping, but he wants to stay with her for awhile.]

[Well, that's a-okay with her. She hasn't slept well for the last few days thanks to all of this and worrying about Riku, so she'll welcome the nap with open arms, really. Sorry Sora, you can probably move after she's asleep but for now, you're the human pillow. Lovelovelove.]
