I know a lot of people are already planning on how to make the best of this and make sure we have a good strategy, but why do I feel like that might not be enough this time? I was hoping they'd skip us this time, and right around Christmas? Thanks a lot.

Well, guess that means I have to bump my Christmas plans back a little further. [She's trying to make light of the situation, even though she's really not that happy. She's pretty worried, actually.] Underground this time, huh? I'm not sure if that's better or worse. But why...you'd think they'd learn from last time, I'm not really a combatant.

I want to be better this time, and I'm not going to get knocked out early this time. I'm...I'm really good with healing magic now, and some of the other magic, too. And I'm a little better at combat for back-up support. [But definitely not for the front lines, she thinks.] I want to help. Just tell me what to do.

And for something a little less depressing...who's planning Christmas parties this year? I've got some ideas, but we'll see how those go.

Definitely warm coats and boots. We can probably pull the extras from the clothing shop and item shop before the first.

Definitely. We have a lot of time before then, we can get a good stockpile ready before the first new arrivals. I'll have to run things by Rydia.

I really don't know. We seem to get a lot of people in each time around. When I arrived in July, I counted at least thirty arrivals after I was already here.

I guess it just worries me a little, that's all. It's silly, isn't it?

Silly? I don't think so. It's a lot of people coming in each cycle. It's not fair.

I mean more like...you know, because I can't think of how to make it stop. It's a lot of people I worry about because they don't know what to expect here.

I see your point. Especially if they arrive in the winter. The Malnosso could at least bring people in wearing warmer clothes or drop them off inside. That'd be a better start.

It's like they just don't care as long as there are bodies here. They don't care if we freeze or starve or bleed...it's ridiculous. I just want to make sure the welcome center's enough.

It really is. But as long as we work together, we'll have the Welcome Center more than ready. Maybe we can get more people to help with patrols too.

How many do we have right now anyway?

[...] So far I really only know of Giles and me. Maybe Selphie? I'll have to check. We have less people staffed late at night, though it also tends to be quiet at night.

Well as long as we have someone at night, that's all we can really ask. It's still kind of scary here after dark. You never know what's out there.

Always the monsters in the dark, and who knows what or who a new cycle could bring. [They've been lucky so far, but on the other hand... Harth.] I'll have to talk to Rydia or maybe do a call out for people willing to patrol and help out at night. I'd hate for someone to be stuck out in the woods or even the mountains.

Exactly, and it doesn't help that they've been known to drop new feathers off in the most random places. But then it brings up...are those who are patrolling at night going to be safe?

We'll have to bundle up a little more, but we'll be okay. If we can get more people, going out in pairs would be the best idea, in case something happens.

I think I like that idea the best. I don't want to see anybody else get hurt or possibly killed. So...how do we get more people to volunteer?

I think the first step is asking. See if people will put an evening or two aside to help out. Maybe the Blue Rogues can help out.

One step at a time, I guess. It can be a goal for the new year, at least. I'll see if I can find anybody to help, too.
